When she was six she had an imaginary friend named Alto.
Alto was a circus bear. She would see him when she was sad or angry. He would
try to cheer her up with tricks and funny faces. Alto knew many tricks. He knew
how to ride a bike, walk on his hands and make a duck out of balloons. When she
would fall asleep, Alto would cuddle next to her and keep her warm.
After a few years, she stopped talking about Alto, even
though she still continued to be cheered up and cuddled by him. She knew no one
believed that he was there, and that was ok with her. She loved Alto and Alto
loved her.
