Set Aside

The presents were just about to be opened. She set me aside and promised, though she wouldn't play with me for while, that she would come back to me and we would play and cuddle again.

She never came back. She doesn't even know where I am now.

I bet she doesn't even know where that other toy she opened is either anymore.

Gauge

She wrote because her head was too full. She ate because her heart was too empty.

Dawn

Her fingers glides over the dew covered petals. She loves the park at dawn. The morning stillness of everything just before it all wakes up for the day. The fresh smell of the grass and the flowers. These walks used to be filled with debates and laughs. Now they are just filled with her daydreams and memories.

Rainy Day

He peered out the window watching the falling rain. If only he could be sitting outside on the bench, smelling all of those unique scents that only come up during a rain fall. He doesn’t actually want to be in the rain though; he hates having wet paws.

He turned back around just as the cat came around the corner. If he couldn’t have one adventure, at least he could have another!

Alto

When she was six she had an imaginary friend named Alto. Alto was a circus bear. She would see him when she was sad or angry. He would try to cheer her up with tricks and funny faces. Alto knew many tricks. He knew how to ride a bike, walk on his hands and make a duck out of balloons. When she would fall asleep, Alto would cuddle next to her and keep her warm.

After a few years, she stopped talking about Alto, even though she still continued to be cheered up and cuddled by him. She knew no one believed that he was there, and that was ok with her. She loved Alto and Alto loved her.
